About us
Fish Invest Ltd. is a leading company specializing in the production of rainbow trout, carp, and sturgeon for black caviar. Over time, thanks to our expansion in production and the diversity of fish species we cultivate, we have established ourselves as a leader in the freshwater aquaculture sector in the Balkans. Our production operations are based in the city of Montana, Bulgaria. Our main markets are in Bulgaria and other countries across the Balkan Peninsula.
We operate a modern cage farming facility at Ogosta Reservoir, where we successfully farm carp for consumption and sturgeon for the production of black caviar. The cage base consists of 200 cages. Additionally, we manage six reservoirs in Montana region, which we use for the production of juvenile fish, including carp, bighead carp, zander, and others. These include:

- Yagodnik Reservoir (86 decares)
- Dr. Yosif Reservoir (640 decares)
- Fish farm Brusartsi (186 decares)
- Pod Seloto Reservoir (380 decares)
- Fish Farm Montana town (176 decares)
We maintain the high quality of our products through our modern processing facility, which operates according to the highest standards. As part of a European program, we have installed solar panels on the facility’s roof, which optimize production costs and contribute to the sustainable management of our business.
Our history
Fish Invest Ltd. began its journey in the aquaculture sector back in 1998. Initially, the focus was on traditional carp farming in reservoirs. Over time, we expanded our operations, and in 2013, we established a modern cage farming facility at Ogosta Reservoir, consisting firstly of 100 cages, which we continue to upgrade to this day. Meanwhile, we initiated the construction of a fully integrated closed-cycle farm for rainbow trout production, which includes a hatchery, pre-fattening, and fattening complexes.
In 2017, due to increased production volumes, we built a modern production facility for processing the farmed species. We invest in cutting-edge fish cleaning equipment, which combines high capacity with unmatched quality. Additionally, we invest significantly in advanced systems to enhance fish farming conditions without the use of disinfectants or medications, staying as close as possible to eco-friendly production standards.
Our short-term strategy is based on a five-year business plan that aims to expand our business from solely farming to also include processing and trading. For us, it remains crucially important to further establish, develop and deepen successful business relationships with our current partners.
